I was born and raised in Ethiopia.  My parents and my grandparents were missionaries.. I love Africa.  My brother Peter and his wife Tammy live in Tanzania.  My Aunt Dorothy is working with AIDS/HIV awareness in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.  She just turned 70 and is a hero of mine. I’d like to give a million dollars to the Fistula Foundation of Ethiopia.

I live in La Crescenta, Ca with my beloved husband and musical partner, Michael Gayle.  He produces all of my music.  My son, Andy Smith, aka Black Crane is also a singer songwriter.

I have been a Life Purpose Coach for almost 10 years.  Do you know how some woman, as they go through menopause, have crazy mood swings and start to realize that they have sacrificed themselves to take care of everybody else.  Well, what I do is I help them navigate the emotional roller coaster of menopause, and pick up the pieces of their dreams so they honor themselves and fulfill their legacy.

I am a Practitioner of Truth at the Agape International Spiritual Center.  I love to pray, to pull heaven on earth, and explore the great mysteries. What is a Spiritual Practitioner?  Here are the vows that I live by. To behold the fullness of God in all as all; To serve God through teaching, healing and revealing the Truth; To dwell in unconditional love, peace and thanksgiving; To dedicate myself to spiritual unfoldment; To surrender to Divine Wisdom in joyous celebration.

I teach yoga.

I love hearing children sing songs that empower them and make them feel good.  One of my dreams is to have one of my songs sung by children all over the world at the opening ceremony of the Olympics.
